With the warm weather here, several road construction projects are taking place on Pearce Mill Road and Route 910 in Pine Township over the next few months.

Here’s a look at the latest information, and detours, on the projects.

Route 910 Bridge Replacement Project

Although PennDOT began work June 12 on Route 910 in anticipation of closing two short bridges, the road will remain open until next month.

Pine Township assistant manager Scott Anderson said Route 910 is now tentatively scheduled to close July 22 from Pearce Mill Road to Lyndhurst Circle while PennDOT replaces the bridges and also adds turning lanes and permanent traffic signals.

The road originally was scheduled to close June 12, just after Pine-Richland School District let out for the summer.

The $3.5 million project is expected to continue through October or November.

Detours will be posted along the routes.

Detours:
  • Westbound Route 910 traffic would be detoured north on Pearce Mill Road, west on Graham Road to Warrendale Road, then south on Route 19 back to Route 910.
  • The eastbound detour will be Route 910 to north on North Chapel Drive, north on Route 19, west on Warrendale Road to Graham Road, then south on Pearce Mill Road, back to Route 910 east.

Pearce Mill Road Closure

Pearce Mill Road is expected to remain closed in both directions from Route 910 to Brown Road until October.

PennDOT is repairing several slides in the area.

Work on the $2.6 million project also includes reconstructing and widening the intersection at Route 910, adding turning lanes in all directions, improving drainage, traffic signals and bituminous resurfacing.

The road has been closed since June 12.

Route 910 Road Paving

That’s right, more work is in store for Route 910

PennDOT will be paving the road between Pearce Mill Road and Hardt Road later this summer.

Anderson said a start date has not been scheduled for the project, but he expects it to begin sometime after July 21.

The paving will take place between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. daily.

This portion of Route 910 will not be closed during the project, Anderson said. There are no detours.
