Pine-Richland is making plans to deal with Hurricane Sandy, the major weather event also dubbed "Frankenstorm", according to Northern Regional Police Chief T. Robert Amann.

Although the fury of the storm is not scheduled to hit until Monday night, emergency agencies already are working together on plans.

Amann said fire department stations will be open if residents need to evacuate their homes.

"We will make arrangements to get people there if (the need is) medical related," Amann said.

Plans were still in the making Monday morning, but Amann said the main fire stations will be open. Here are the address:

Wexford Volunteer Fire Co. (serving Pine Township)

Main Station—228 North Chapel Drive, Wexford, Pine Township. North Chapel Drive is the road connecting Route 910 and Route 19, close to ALDI's.

Babcock Boulevard substation also will be open.

Richland Township Volunteer Fire Department (serving Richland Township)

Station—5857 Meridian Road, Gibsonia, Richland Township. The station is adjacent to St. Barnabas Health System's property.
