Nearby: Albino Deer Draws Attention in Sewickley Heights

The rare deer has been spotted frolicking in the local wild.

An albino deer is drawing a lot of attention in Sewickley Heights.

Patch reader John Burgh spotted the deer roaming in the woods off Blackburn Road and uploaded a photo in November to Patch's Pics & Clips gallery

The deer is still on the move. On Tuesday, according to KDKA, a mailman also saw an albino deer near Blackburn while making the rounds.

Albino deer are rare, occurring about once in every 30,000 births, according to facts about deer.net

Being as there are PLENTY of deer around, I hope hunters have enough sense to leave THIS one alone!

Yes, I saw this deer or one of it's family about 2 years ago. I had just left work around 9pm and headed up Blackburn road to I-79. It was climbing up a hill and I thought I was delusional...never knew there was such a thing as a white deer. There was no traffic behind me so I got to stay still while watching the deer. Told my story to just about everyone I know.
