Moms Talk: Planning for Summer Camps and Organizing Household 'Stuff'

Do you have tips to share? We want to hear from you! We've started a conversation ... please join in.

Margo: It is mid-February and the same feeling creeps into my head as last year, and the year before that …. “I may not make it.”

Now, I don’t mean that in the darkest of senses; I mean I just may not make it through this winter. I get this tug to just pack up the kids and the hubby, move to some warm island, build a hut and catch bonefish for a living.

Sounds like a plan, right?

If by chance I do make it through the winter and stay in Pine-Richland this summer, however, I should probably plan some summer fun for the kids.  Yes, summer is fortunately inching closer and so is the time to start planning.

We have done the Carnegie Science Center, museums, swim lessons, Kids Fest, Young Writers Institute (for the budding author), Camp Invention ….  but maybe there is something we haven’t heard about or something new!

Wendy:  On the windowsill above my kitchen sink are ceramic pinch pots from the kids and a lone Christmas decoration that didn't make it into the attic for a long summer's nap.

My family teases me for having a Christmas decoration still on display in February.  I happily replied, "I am 300 days ahead of Christmas 2011!"

It is easy for this working mom to prepare tax documents for the accountant or a healthy meal for dinner. Yet, it is hard to keep up with organizing household "stuff."
