Food Fight: Who Serves the Best Pie in Pine-Richland?

It's not our style to talk about weight and dessert in the same sentence, but what the heck. It's time to weigh in on pie. What diner, restaurant or bakery serves the best pie in Pine-Richland?

Last night I dreamed I was standing in front of one of those rotating glass dessert display cases. Do restaurants still have them?

In the dream, I watched the pies go by: berry and apple and a big, fluffy lemon meringue. But there was no pumpkin pie, which is strange because I've been thinking of pumpkin pie this week. Big, golden slices with whipped cream sort of oozing down the sides onto the plate, which I want to pick up and lick except mothers everywhere would give me that look.

Do you always leave room for pie? When approaching a pie, do you start at the pointy end and work your way back toward the crust? Or are you one of those impatient types who break off the crusty collar and eat that first?

We all know pies can be tricky to bake: all that dusting and rolling. Sometimes even the most skilled cooks have to defer on their pies. So tell us, where in Pine-Richland do you go for pie — either a slice at the table with coffee or a whole one to bring home?

We're taking nominations now, and later in the week you'll vote and we'll announce the winners.
