Flash Flood Warning Issued for Pine-Richland Area

The flash flood watch is in effect until Thursday morning.

A flash flood warning has been issued for Allegheny and Washington counties through 11:15 a.m. Thursday, July 11.

These storms are expected to move southward across Allegheny County through the next hour," according to the weather statement issued by the National Weather Service. "Less than an inch of additional rainfall will cause flooding over much of Allegheny County, especially south of the parkway where flooding has already been reported earlier this morning."

Motorists are reminded not to attempt to cross any flooded roadway.

"It takes only a few inches of flowing water to carry vehicles away," the weather statement said.

Southwestern Pennsylvania also is under a flood watch through 6 a.m. Thursday.
