1. Pine-Richland School Board Meeting

What’s going on in your child’s school? Find out in person when Pine-Richland officials meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 11 at Pine-Richland High School for the school board’s planning meeting.

2. Used Book Sale at Northern Tier Library

The Friends of the Northern Tier Library will host its Annual Used Book Sale Wednesday, March 13 through Sunday, March 17. Most items range from 25 cents (children's paperbacks) to $1 (adult hardbacks). The sale also offers audio books, music CDs, and DVDs. This event will be held on the library's lower level inside the Richland Center.

3. Pine Township Zoning Hearing Board Meeting for Wexford Farms

A group of Treesdale families are fighting a grading permit application from Wexford Farms. The residents say contractor Joseph B. Fay Co.'s trucks dumped dirt and more from the Pennsylvania Turnpike construction project at the corner of Pearce Mill and Warrendale roads in Pine Township. A zoning hearing board meeting on the matter, continues on Thursday, March 14.

4. 2nd Life Prom Dress Sale

The popular 2nd Life Prom Dress Sale is taking place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 16 at Cranberry Community United Presbyterian Church on Rochester Road in Cranberry.

provides a selection of more than 1,000 new and gently worn formal dresses for $20 each. A waiting room with coffee opens at 8 a.m.

5. Passion Play at St. Alphonsus Church

St. Alphonsus Church presents its annual Passion play in the school's Ryan Center at 8 p.m. Friday, March 15 and at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 16.

A hors d'oeuvres bar will precede the Saturday performance at 6 pm. The production is an original play written and scored by Bob Summers, former youth minister at St. Alphonsus Church. This year marks the play's eleventh annual production at St. Alphonsus.
