Five Things You Need to Know This Week

1. Pine Board of Supervisors Meeting

Find out in person what’s going on in local government. Pine Township’s board of supervisors will meet for their workshop session at 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 18 at the Pine Community Center on Pine Park Drive.

2. An Evening with Joe Bullick: Local Historian, Museum Curator, and Author

Join historian and Pine township resident Joe Bullick for an evening of local history at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 19 at the located inside the Richland Center on Dickey Road in Gibsonia.

Bullick will bring scrapbooks and other memorabilia to the event. He also will talk about his book, Put a Tent Over the Circus: A True Story of a Foster Child's Love and Loss During the Great Depression.

3. Richland Board of Supervisors Meetings

Learn more about what’s going on in the community as the Richland Township Board of Supervisors meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, in the municipal assembly room of the Richland Township Municipal Building, located at 4019 Dickey Road.

4. Pine Easter Egg Hunt

Pine Township will hold its annual East Egg Hunt for those ages 1 through 9 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, March 23 at the Pine Community Center.

The event is free for residents. There is a fee of $3 per child for non residents. Participants should bring a basket to collect the eggs as well as a camera to take photos with the Easter Bunny.

5. MDA Kids Carnival at Lowe’s

A carnival for kids to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 23 at the Lowe’s Home Improvement Store in Gibsonia. The event includes games, contests, prizes and a scavenger hunt.

State police, local police, Richland firefighters and EMTs also will be on hand at the event.
