Fireworks From Pyrotecnico to Fill Sky at Pine Community Day

New Castle company has created shows for Pine Township for about a decade.

Pine Community Day will end with a bang Saturday night as Pyrotecnico -- once again -- lights up the night sky with its fireworks.

The New Castle company has been creating fireworks shows for for about a decade, said Joni K. Patsko, director of parks and recreation.

"Their staff is awesome to work with and has always provided us with a great fireworks show. They do an aerial show and ground displays coordinated to music that you can hear throughout the community day side of the park," Patsko continued.

"As I always say, it’s not just fireworks, it’s a fireworks show," said Patsko. "If you watch close enough, it seems like they always have something a little different in their show that I haven’t seen anywhere else."

But before the fireworks begin, Pine Community Day will feature lots of activities for visitors to enjoy starting at 4:30 p.m. in -- everything from ice sculpting to a petting zoo to giant inflatables to a concert by No Bad JuJu.

"As the day goes on, you can see the cars rolling in the park and folks picking their spots for the fireworks, Patsko said. "I receive numerous compliments and phone calls after the show to let us know how much they enjoyed our fireworks display."

Celebrating the fireworks is not limited the Pine Community Park's borders.

"I have heard that a lot of our neighbors to the park have their picnics that day," Patsko said, "and have even heard that some folks have scheduled their vacations around Pine Community Day."

Pine Community Day festivities start at 4:30 p.m. at at 100 Pine Park Drive in Wexford. There are two ways to get into the park -- from Pearce Mill Road and from the Red Belt/Warrendale Road. Access to Pearce Mill Road from Route 910 has been closed because of roadwork. A detour takes motorists to Babcock Boulevard, where they are directed to head north, then west on the Red Belt/Warrendale Road. One park entrance is on the Red Belt, close to Pine Community Center. Motorists can also turn onto Pearce Mill Road from the Red Belt to get to a park entrance.
