'Doc's Talk' Events at St. Barnabas Focus on Heart Health, Alzheimer's Disease

Presentations at St. Barnabas Medical Center are open to the public.

Maintaining heart health and recognizing Alzheimer's disease will be discussed in two "Doc's Talk" events at .

Dr. Santosh Pandit, cardiologist with the medical center, will discuss the warning signs and how to prevent heart attacks, congestive heart failure and strokes in his talk titled “How to Maintain Heart Health” at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The event will take place in Hilltop Hall at The Village at St. Barnabas, 5850 Meridian Road, Gibsonia/Richland Township.

The Doc's Talk events are open to the public.

, education and outreach coordinator for the Alzheimer’s Association of the Greater Pennsylvania Chapter, will lead a one-hour presentation titled “How to Handle Memory Loss” at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, in Hilltop Hall.

Lutz will explain the common warning signs of memory loss, including symptoms and prevention. She will also discuss:

  • The definition of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia
  • Diagnosis and treatment
  • Communication and behavior tips

The presentations are part of St. Barnabas Medical Center’s monthly Doc’s Talk series, in which health care practitioners share information with St. Barnabas residents and the public. 

St. Barnabas Medical Center provides outpatient medical care in a number of specialties through its nearly two dozen practitioners.
