The Allegheny County Parks Department today announced that its “Books to Life” Summer Movies in the Parks Series kicks off at dusk on Thursday, June 21, with the screening of Hugo at Settlers Cabin Park’s Gilbert Love Shelter. The series will continue each Thursday night through August 9. All screenings will begin at dusk. All movies are free and open to the public. Limited refreshments will be served. Viewers are welcome to bring food and non-alcoholic beverages. Tonight's movie is Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.

More About North Park
North Park is a large community park spanning three townships. The park features off-leash fields for dogs, playgrounds, a nature center, walking trails, an 18-hole golf course and a lake. Other popular areas of interest include horseshoe throwing pits, picnic areas, basketball and tennis courts, football and soccer fields, a boathouse with boat rentals and a horse showing ring. The park hosts a variety of events such as concerts, movies and an ice skating rink in the winter.
