A great faucet is such an integral part of a kitchen design. 

It needs to be utilitarian, as well as mechanically sound, but it also needs to be a work of art. I like to look for features that a client requires, then I build upon the design element along with style of the kitchen.

A truly cool faucet is one that I placed in my own kitchen. Many manufacturers have versions of the pullout, dual-spray, coil-stem look. The pricing varies as much as the many versions available. 

I typically go for the single-hole faucet to allow the granite to be as unmarred as possible.  So, in that case, a single-handle faucet fits the bill.  There are also many dual-handle faucets that work for traditional and country French looks. 

It’s endless, but the best advice I give to my clients is to buy quality. Big-box stores will carry a lesser—yet similar—version, but the lifespan is also lesser. 

Go for broke when choosing your kitchen faucet as it will anchor the entire room and last long.
