What's Closed on Labor Day?

No mail delivery, no school, no trash collection.

In observance of the Labor Day holiday, government offices in Pine and Richland townships will be closed on Monday.

Pine Community Center and Pine-Richland schools also will be closed, as will Allegheny County, state and federal offices and courts. Banks and liquor stores will not be open either.

Northern Tier Library will be closed Saturday through Monday.

U.S. Postal Service facilities will be closed for retail transactions. There will be no regular mail delivery and limited collection runs will be conducted throughout Pittsburgh and the Western Pennsylvania District.

Express Mail however, is delivered 365 days a year and will be delivered.

Vogel Disposal Service Inc., which collects trash and recycling for both townships, will be closed Monday. Trash and recycling collection will be delayed one day this week.

Pennsylvania Department of Transportation driver's license and photo centers will be closed, although some services will be available on its website.

The Port Authority of Allegheny County's bus, T and incline service will operate on holiday schedules for Labor Day.

Port Authority's Customer Service phone line will hold holiday hours from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
