What are Gas Prices in Pine-Richand? See Which Stations Are Lowest
Experts explain why prices in Ohio are up to 50 cents a gallon cheaper than Western Pennsylvania.
If you live in Cleveland, there's a good chance you could fill up your tank for about $3.00 a gallon, and that's more than 40 cents a gallon cheaper than in Pine-Richland, according to the AAA.
Drivers in five states (Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, Oklahoma and Minnesota) currently pay less than $3.00 per gallon at the pump, while only drivers in Hawaii pay more than $4.00 per gallon, the AAA said.
Jeff Lenard, spokesman for the National Association of Convenience Stores, told the Post Gazette that prices vary for several reasons.
One is a different state gas tax rate, which favors Ohio at $46.4 cents a gallon, or 4.3 cents below Pennsylvania's 50.7 cents. Another reason, Lenard said, is because different pipelines and gasoline refineries and wholesalers supply Ohio.
