My vote for the best place to workout is hands down the Pine Township Community Center. Beautiful new building, very large work out area, and state of the art equipment.

I drive from Franklin Park to work out at Hitek Training in Richland. As a student, I get expert instruction adapted to my specific goals and needs (e.g., equipment available to me, past injuries, schedule, etc.) There is a very strong focus on proper form, so I know I am getting the most out of what I am doing and I'm not going to get hurt.

Hitek gym gets my vote for best place to work out. Individual or small groups work out with a highly skilled, sensitive trainer who tailors exercises to fit each person's needs. Quick to react when an exercise is needing some correction, and even quicker to praise when it's being done correctly, Karen takes a personal interest in all. No more staring at a machine and trying to remember what you're supposed to do while a disinterested gym aide is too busy to do anything but hit on the gal with the gorgeous body.

Without a doubt, the best place is Hitek Training! Karen Hite is an incredible trainer who shows you how to do each weight lifting exercise for maximum benefit and without chance of injury.

I'm dissappointed to see that the Patch Staff failed to include the best gym/workout facility that I know of in the area for today's poll. You can be cool, be "seen", or just hang out in some of the other venues cited. But my vote and my money goes to Hitek Training. A gritty little place with the best physical trainer I've ever met. Individualized instruction or group. And a real gift when working with individuals with physical challenge! .

Thanks for the comment, Tim. Actually, we ask for nominations from the community when we put together the poll. Once we posted the poll, a number of people commented about Hitek Training, so we included it in our story about the winner. http://pine-richland.patch.com/articles/readers-choice-winner-for-best-gym-is-pine-community-center

We encourage people to keep posting comments—Hitek obviously has a very dedicated following! It sounds like a great place!

Yes Hitek is the BEST for quality and more quality at a reasonable cost. It is a well kept secret and I have been there for over 10 yrs. Karen Hite is an inspiration in not only physical fitness, but also in nutrition. Renee Ford

Rosemary Craft goes to Hitek training in Gibsonia. l have Multiple Sclerosis and am becoming challenged in many ways physically - from walking, endurance, and balance. Karen Hite is an excellent trainer. She has helped me regain a lot of skills. And she is always ready to encourage me when I want to give up. I highly recommend her.

Hitek is one of the best gyms around. Karen takes time with each member to assure proper technique and form. It's also one of the cleanest gyms I've ever been in.
