Welcome back, Patch Blogger!

Tell Us: Which Stop-Sign Intersection is the Worst in Pine-Richland?

Do motorists stop at these intersections or roll right through?

Ever had this happen? You pull up to a stop sign, come to a full stop, prepare to proceed and some jerk rolls right through the intersection in front of you.

Maybe you use some choice words about his mental and driving abilities; perhaps you yell at her to get off her cell phone. No matter what, it's irritating and could cause an accident.

So Patch was wondering: In your opinion, which stop-sign intersection in Pine or Richland is the worst? It can be a four-way intersection or an intersection with just one stop sign (to which no one pays attention).

A year ago, we asked about the worst intersection on Route 19 in Pine Township and the one where Route 19, North Chapel Road, Church Road and Route 910 come together was the "winner", if you could call it that.

That intersection has traffic lights. This time we are limiting the question to intersections with stop signs.

One of my not-so-favorite four-way intersections includes the Route 910-Babcock Boulevard intersection in Pine that is not far from Pine-Richland High School and Middle School.

A two-way intersection that scares me is where Community Center Drive crosses Route 910 in Richland Township, close to the Pine-Richland Youth Center.

What intersections come to mind for you? What do you think should be done to make them safer?

Share your thoughts in the comments box below. Go ahead. Vent.

Babcock/910 can backup, but the intersection of Warrendale/Graham/Wallace Rd is also terrible.

Route 910 and Church Road is terrible ever since they put in the left turn lanes on 910. Everyone on 910 goes out of turn.

Hmmm. Optional—that's a good way to put it! Years ago a friend was in an accident there because the other driver was lost, not paying attention and went right through the stop. Crashed into the side of my friend's car.

Do you think speeding on Dickey and Meridian is a problem? Or do you think people are just lazy about stopping?

Warrendale - Graham - Wallace Rd.....I live near there and ALWAYS see cars fly through those stop signs without looking/stopping ...like they never saw the signs. I suggest either traffic lights or WARNINGS about "Stop Ahead" or have our N - A Police officers sit there and pass out tickets to the offenders....word would spread quickly!!

Warrendale-Graham-Wallace is ridiculous! I don't understand what is so hard about taking turns! 4-way stops aren't difficult, but it seems many area residents do the stop & roll regardless of whose turn it is.

I've been through there a couple of times lately and am happy to say everyone behaved themselves and truly stopped! But someone rolled out in front of me on Wildwood Road in Hampton, not even slowing down when they got to the stop sign at the end of Hardt Road. The car turned into UPMC Passavant so I'm trying to think positive thoughts and imagine they were in a hurry to get someone to the ER. Of course, it could have been someone running late for work. Like I said, I'm trying to think positive thoughts :-)
