Restaurant Spotlight: The Oven Pizza Co.

Lots of Pine-Richland area restaurants, shops and other great places can be found in our directory. Review them here!

This week's restaurant spotlight is on The Oven Pizza Co., located at 2000 Village Run Road in the Village at Pine.

The restaurant specializes in cooking up wood-fired dishes made from fresh ingredients. It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily.

Menu items include brick-oven pizza, specialty pizzas, salads, pocket sandwiches, paninis, soups and breakfast paninis. All-natural hot wings and selections for children are available.

The original brick oven concept began in 2006 when Gary Matson and his former partner opened a brick oven pizza company in the South Hills of Pittsburgh called My Brick Oven.

The company went through several name changes, first Azzeria and then City Oven. In 2009, the partners opened their second location in Pine.

After opening the Pine location, Matson and his partner realized they had different visions for the company. On June 28, 2011, Gary and Lisa Matson became the sole owners of the Village of Pine location.

I love their gluten free selections - they taste great and it's awesome to have a local place to go out for gluten free pizza and panini!!
