Pine's Holiday Dazzle Festivities Start at 5 p.m. Sunday

Santa, lighting of special tree, fireworks and more are on tap at Pine Community Center.

Santa will arrive in a fire truck, fireworks will be synchronized to holiday music, horses pulling carriages will prance around and that's just a few of the things happening at Sunday's Holiday Dazzle event.

Pine Community Center will be abuzz with activities from 5 to 7:30 p.m. and the cost of admission is just $3 per person.

Come hungry -- vendors will be selling hot chocolate, kettle corn, funnel cake, hot dogs, french fries, fried Oreos and pizza.

Live reindeer from Living Treasures Animal Park will be on hand for children [and adults] to view and wonder how they fly through the air.

Santa is leaving Rudolph and the gang behind at the North Pole for Sunday's visit -- he will arrive in a Wexford Volunteer Fire Co. truck.

Rep. Mike Turzai will lead the big countdown on lighting a special tree.

Nearly a dozen holiday trees line the entrance hallway to Pine Community Center and visitors are asked to vote for their favorite by dropping $1 "vote tickets" into the appropriate container. Proceeds go to local charities.

Trees have been decorated by Dollar Bank, Drayer Physical Therapy, Eich Insurance, Friends of Pine Community Parks, Giant Eagle Market District Wexford, Med Express Urgent Care Wexford, Northern Tier Library, Pine-Richland Patch.com, Stepping Stones Children's Center, The Pine Academy, and Wexford Post Office Deli & Catering.

Visitors are encouraged to wear creative and artistic hats for the Holiday Hat Parade.

The Sweet Adelines will perform, as well as Eden Hall Upper Elementary Chorus, Perry Highway Lutheran Pre-School, Melissa Nemetz School of Dance and Pine Community Center's Zumba Class.

"The Grinch" movie will be shown in the parking lot, similar to the summer's Movies in the Park, only colder.

Rides on horse-drawn carriages, a bonfire with s'mores, ice carving, a holiday sing-a-long, crafts and cookie decorating also will take place.

The evening will end with fireworks by Pyrotecnico that explode in sync with holiday music.
