The Pine-Richland hockey team lost to Latrobe, 5-0, in the PIHL Class AA Penguins Cup Championship game.
Pine-Richland came out strong in the first period of Wednesday night’s matchup at Consol Energy Center.
By the second period, Latrobe (19-3) led 3-0 and continued to pull ahead of the Rams (16-4-2), according to MSA Sports Network.
Pine-Richland would have won for the first time since current Chicago Blackhawk Brandon Saad led them to the Class AAA title in 2008. For the Wildcats, this is the fourth championship.
