A day after tweeting about a cupcake tasting, Jackie Evancho will appear Thursday on a daytime show known for the cook and cooking, the Rachael Ray Show.
Jackie is scheduled to perform "Music of the Night" from her new album, Songs from the Silver Screen, on the show that airs in the Pittsburgh area at 10 a.m. on WTAE Channel 4. To find the showtime in your area, please click here.
As for the cupcakes, Jackie tweeted Wednesday: Cupcake tasting at WPXI to find the best cupcake in Pittsburgh!!! Yum!!!! Click here for the link to the photo included with the tweet.
Such is the world of a 12-year-old soprano prodigy who lives in the Pine-Richland community.
Earlier in the week she performed with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra at Boettcher Concert Hall in Denver, receiving five standing ovations, according to a Denver Post blog.
Monday's tweet was: Warming up before my concert tonight pic.twitter.com/XFQgAdF4
Denver Post writer Ray Mark Rinaldi, in a preview of the Denver concert, termed Jackie's success as "holistic and wholly new millennium".
"She came to the world's attention via YouTube and reality TV (America's Got Talent). She's the ultimate crossover artist, mixing up popular classical and classic pop; she's as likely to sing Puccini as she is Elton John, as likely to pop up on a PBS fundraiser as she is to guest on "Dancing with the Stars," Rinaldi wrote.
Since releasing her Songs From the Silver Screen CD in early October, Jackie has been granting interviews to the media and making the rounds of TV shows.
Jackie appeared on the Today Show, The View, and Fox & Friends to chat and sing "Music of the Night" from the new CD.

Jackie and her family obviously want to be as active as they can within their own community. Rainbows and butterflies seems to follow her everywhere. -- I send kudos and high fives to them for the simple things in life as companionship, and family, and community pleasures as I do for the gratification I receive when hearing her sing, but alas, it is her music that transports me to the edge of the river 'Bliss.' A cupcake with cream on the top, does it get any better than that??

Cindy,
Thanks for pointing to this article from the one from today. I had missed this one and I always appreciate the way you put a story together.
Jackie goes from the sophistication of a national TV show to a hometown cupcake tastining contest with ease. She is at home everywhere!
