Jackie Evancho to Appear on Oprah Today

Jackie Evancho captured the hearts of millions last fall when she performed on "America’s Got Talent" and one of those hearts was none other than Oprah’s.

Jackie appeared on Oprah’s show last October in a feature about her life. The episode, “Opera Phenom Jackie Evancho,” showed Jackie in her life back here in Richland Township along with some of her performances.

Jackie was also featured in a show about talented child singers in March of this year.

Now Jackie will sing once more for Oprah on Monday, May 23, in the “Surprise Oprah – A Farewell Spectacular Part I” which will be aired locally at 4 p.m. on WTAE.

According to email from Columbia Marketing- Sony Music Mail, Jackie was invited to perform on May 17 at United Center in Chicago as part of the grand finale for Oprah’s shows. Other famous performers including Diana Ross, Maria Shriver, John Travolta will be appearing on Oprah's show this week.

The 11-year-old fifth-grade student at Eden Hall Upper Elementary became a favorite of Oprah after her performances and runner-up honor on the popular TV talent show “America’s Got Talent” late last summer. When her Christmas CD was released, Oprah told Jackie that she would be playing her CD in her home for the holidays.

As Jackie gets ready to release her next CD, “Dream with Me,” on June 14, there are several promotions including advance releases of singles from the CD, offers and the chance to enter a trip to see Jackie at one of her performances.

Jackie also made an appearance on the home shopping network QVC to promote the CD. The CD may also be purchased in advance at www.Jackieevancho.com/.
