These roses at Weischedel Florist & Greenhouses in Gibsonia were arranged in a vase to be delivered for Valentine's Day.

'Twas the day before Valentine's and all through the shop, every creature was working and no one would stop.

It was Monday afternoon at Weischedel Florist & Greenhouses, and the place looked like Santa's workshop on Christmas Eve—everyone was busy, getting ready for the the big event.

By Monday afternoon, owner Lynn Martig said she had no idea how many orders they had for Valentine's Day.

"Lots! Thankfully!" said the fifth-generation florist. "We appreciate every one of them."

Nicole Giger packed boxes of long-stemmed roses while Martig, Beth Lio and Debbie Stayduhar arranged roses, greens and baby's breath in vases.

This photo gallery is a behind-the-scenes look at what makes Valentine's Day a "rosy" holiday.
