Gibsonia Man to Stand Trial on Statutory Sexual Assault Charge Involving 14-Year-Old

Bail was lowered to $25,000 for Jesse Robert Shore, 19.

A 19-year-old Gibsonia man charged with statutory sexual assault waived his preliminary hearing Wednesday in a case involving a 14-year-old girl.

Jesse Robert Shore also is charged with a felony count of corruption of a minor and misdemeanor counts of open lewdness, indecent assault and indecent exposure.

Magisterial District Judge Suzanne Blaschak lowered Shore's bail from $100,000 to $25,000. He has been in the Allegheny County Jail since his Feb. 16 arrest.

Northern Regional Police Officer Jeffrey Jones discovered Shore and the girl about 4:45 p.m. Feb. 16 in a pickup truck parked in Richland Community Park, according to the police criminal complaint.

Shore and the girl told police that they met at the Gibsonia Wal-Mart then drove to the park, court documents state.

The girl told police she willingly engaged in sexual intercourse with Shore, the complaint states.

Patch does not identify alleged sexual assault victims.

Statutory sexual assault is charged when the victim is younger than 16 and the defendant is four or more years older than the victim.

When police initially confronted him, Shore gave a false name then immediately stated he was scared and only gave the false name because he is on probation, the complaint states.

Allegheny County Common Pleas Judge Randal B. Todd ordered a year of probation without verdict, community service and a drug and alcohol evaluation Dec. 20 on a count of possession of a controlled substance.

Two felony drug charges were withdrawn then.
