First Day: 'The Elf on the Shelf' is Delightful Gift for Whole Family

The little elf pops up all over your house, keeping a close eye on who is bad or good. So be good, for goodness sake.

On the first day of Christmas, my Patch gave to me ...

"The Elf on the Shelf: A Christmas Tradition" book and elf set.

Available at Castle Toys and Games and Sarah's Hallmark, this delightful package could easily start a tradition at your house.

Author Carol Aebersold explains how The Elf became a tradition at her home when her children were little.

The kids always wondered how Santa knew if they had been naughty or nice.

Poof! The Elf appeared, showing up in a different place each day. At night he magically flew back to the North Pole to give Santa a report.

When he was at the Aebersold home, the children could talk—but not touch—the little fella. Of course, he was always on duty to see the good and bad things the children did.

Will he be a part of your family's tradition?
