Duquesne Light Warns PIne-Richland Residents of Phone Scam
Callers tell customers their service will be cut off on the day of the call if they don't pay their bill.
Have you gotten a phone call from Duquesne Light telling you that your service will be terminated that day if payment is not made immediately?
The callers are directing customers to purchase "pre-paid" type credit cards to pay off the alleged amount.
Duquesne Light does not call customers on the day of a scheduled termination for non-payment, nor does it ask customers to purchase these pre-paid type payment cards.
If a customer receives one of these calls, the company asks that they hang up and call Duquesne Light at 412-393-7100, as well as alerting Northern Regional Police Department, 724-625-3156.

Another scam everyone should be aware of is the Amway Tool Scam. Google "Stop The Amway Tool Scam Wordpress" for more information, and forward this to every non-Distributor/IBO you know, so they don't get scammed.

that was the same call I got last week. This lady claimed it was my final warning before my service was discontinued. Said I had unpaid phone bill and it was long overdue.
I told her I paid my bills on time and never missed a payment. As a matter of fact, I just spoke with the telephone company rep yesterday about my phone plan and she never mentioned anything about unpaid bill. The caller hung up.

I reported the phone number to http://www.callercenter.com and posted a complaint about the caller. In just about 2 days, 7 other people posted a response and said they got calls too.
